Fela Kuti (Fela and Africa 70)/Zombie (1977)
Fela Kuti (Fela Anikulapo Kuti) is a musician/producer/arranger from Nigeria, and the inventor of 'Afro-beat', the polyrhythmic style based on African traditional music and influenced by jazz, soul/funk such as James Brown, and reggae. He is also a political agitator fighting against the military government, strongly influenced by Malcolm X. This album is released under the name of 'Fela and Africa 70' in 1977. The title track 'Zombie' is a famous song that insulted the army, and a megahit in the African countries.
