The Dynamites/Vintage Collection (1967-1969)
A GS band formed in Asagaya, Tokyo in 1965, the Dynamites' compilation album which includes all the studio recordings (all the 12 tracks from their only original album "Young Sound: R&B wa Kore da!" (1968) and 8 single tracks). Features Hiroshi Segawa (vocals) and Fujio Yamaguchi (guitar. He later joined Murahachibu). The performance is influenced by the 1960s R&B and British Blues rock, such the Rolling Stones and Them. The tracks are GS songs (composed by Kunihiko Suzuki, Koichi Sugiyama and others) and lots of covers of Western R&B/rock/pop, such as "Massachusetts" (The Bee Gees), "Daydream Believer", "Last Train to Clarksville" (The Monkees), "Walking the Dog" (Rufus Thomas), "My Girl" (The Temptations) and "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" (Joe Zawinul). The debut single "Tunnel Tengoku (Tunnel Heaven)" is a Japanese garage punk classic. "Koi wa Mou Takusan (I'm Fed Up with Love" and exotic "Manatsu no Yoru no Doubutsuen (A Midsummer Night's Zoo)" are good GS numbers.
