Mozart/Symphonies Nos.25, 29 and 35 "Haffner" (Bernstein, 1984-1988)
Includes two popular pieces of Mozart's symphonies composed in his younger days (teenager), No.25 in G minor (known as the opening music of the film "Amadeus") and No.29 in A major, and the first one of his late six symphonies, No.35 in D major (DG). No.35 "Haffner" is a magnificent piece in festive atmosphere, based on a serenade to celebrate the ennoblement of Sigmund Haffner. Moderate performance in a relaxed tempo, conducted by Leonard Bernstein and performed by Wiener Philharmoniker (live recording).
