Gangway/Sitting in the Park (1988)
A Danish pop band (1982-1997), Gangway's third album (the major-label debut). Sometimes called "Sitting in the Park (Again!)", because the title is the same as the second album. Electro/acoustic pop with synths and strings, based on Beatle-esque guitar pop. Includes singles, "Out on the Rebound from Love", "My Girl and Me" and "Here's My House". Global Communication/76:14 (1994) *
An electronica duo (Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton) formed in Cornwall, England in 1991, Global Communication's 1994 album. An important work in the early 1990s ambient house movement. Tom Middleton was once a co-worker of Richard D. James (Aphex Twin). Spacey and imaginative sound, like lyrical prog-rock or sci-fi soundtrack. It has a good 'chilling out' effect. The title is the total time of the album. Recommended to those who like Vangelis and The Orb. The remastered CD with a bonus disc featuring singles was released in 2005.

Astrud Gilberto/Beach Samba (1967)
A Brazilian bossa nova/pop singer known for her "The Girl from Ipanema", Astrud Gilberto's 1967 album. Not a samba/bossa nova album, but a pop album featuring Astrud's offhand, languid vocals with strings and orchestra, in the soft rock or easy-listening style. The songs are mostly American jazz standards, such as "My Foolish Heart", "Misty Roses" and "I had the Craziest Dream". The fourth track "A Banda (Parade)" is funny for its mismatch between the performance like a military march and lazy vocals. "You Didn't Have to Be So Nice", featuring a duet between Gilberto and her six-year-old son, is a cover of the Lovin' Spoonful. Arranged by Don Sebesky and Eumir Deodato.

Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five/The Message (1982)
The old school rap/hip-hop classic. "The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel" is a sound collage made from snippets of Chic's "Good Times", Blondie's "Rapture", Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust", Sugarhill Gang's "Eighth Wonder", Spoonie Gee's "Monster Jam" and others, and the earliest hip-hop recording with "cutting" techniques. "The Message" is a monumental recording that developed hip-hop into an art form with social messages.
